Gunner

This is Gunner. He came from the Humane Society. He passed Jan. 2010. He was 18 or 19 yrs. old. He was a full-blooded Shel tie. Many people mistake them for miniature collies. When we first got him, the vet thought he was eight or nine. He lived another nine years. He had arthritis when we got him, deaf the last year of his life. Bowed back. I still miss him.Gunner would not walk with you. He would walk about fifty feet and quit. If you didn't turn around right then, he would lay down and not move. Wouldn't fetch, we would throw a ball, he would look at it, then look at you. He would look back and forth until you went and got it. We were well trained. I really think he was amused by that.  He would play frozen man & lay real still. Frozen man, just lay here by me & we don't move. Keep real still meant, when a movie was on you got to rest your feet on him. When the commercials came on, he moved to rest on top of your feet.Would get mad if you cheated and watched HBO, Showtime, or other premium channels without ads. He would leave and get down on the floor, or go to his blanket.
He and Ginger loved each other. Ginger would jump up on the table, and knock food off the table for him. She would knock food out of her bowl, (we keep it on the dryer up high) down to him. She doesn't do this for Bear, or Two.

Ginger (Cinder Cat)

Ginger is pictured here in the box. She came from the Humane Society.
She was about 2 years old when we adopted her. Now, she's about 9 years old.
She's never played with toys. Every once in awhile she chases or gets chased by an invisible friend or enemy.
We're not sure which it is. Once when she was doing this, she would run through the house and jump on the back of the couch. After doing this about a dozen times, she miscalculated and fell off the back of the couch. After staying back there for about 10 minutes, she came back out really slow, and looking all around. I swear it looked like she was saying,"you didn't see anything". Looked at me, meowed, flicked tail  ,and walked on by us. Went to her food bowl and just started eating. Wanted me to forget what had just happened. Only thing hurt on her was her pride. I laughed so hard.  She doesn't jump on the couch any more when playing with her imaginary friend.
She does LOVE cat nip though. She rolls in it, purrs, slobbers like a dog. Doesn't want it in a toy. Just give her plain ole cat nip. We have a cat house we just pour a little on it's floor and she just rolls around in it. If there's no cat nip in it, she doesn't bother going in. Rather have the old box.  Definitely a Cinder Cat!
She is fun to have around.

Oscar

Cleaned my fish tanks today. Watching Oscar,(who is an oscar type of cichlid). I level the gravel out. Oscar moves it from one end to the other. I clean and uncover the air stone. Oscar buries the air stone again.
I had 2 silver dollar fish in with Oscar. He killed both. Now he is alone. I hate that. But, oh well. I hate more that he killed my silver dollars.
He killed them in the night. I got him/her from a neighbor, who was going to flush him/her. Oscar had killed all their fish. I said,"don't do that, I'll take it."
I brought him home put him in my big tank, not big enough. I watched him all day, with my silver dollars. Seemed find. Watched him/her for 3 days. Fourth day I got up, had relaxed by this point. Shouldn't have. Both silver dollars were dead.
Oscar is very camera shy. I keep trying to get a picture. Oh, I have pictures, of the log, and aquarium.  None as of yet of Oscar. That will change one day.
I do like Oscar though. These type of fish, have personality. You can teach them to do tricks. I had one before, who had other fish with it. That oscar didn't care. That oscar I named, Red. Red would come up and eat out of my hand.
Oscar will come around. I have time. These fish can live for about 15 years.
Ha,got him sorta. Will get a good one one day. I give up. Set my video up and leave it running.
